21.11.06 - MARK WELLS TRIO DEBUT HOMETOWN SHOW
Award-winning Novacastrian singer/songwriter Mark Wells will make
his debut performance with his brand new trio lineup at the Queens Wharf
Brewery on Thursday 30th November.
The performance will showcase a stack of new songs from the former Supersonic
frontman’s soon-to-be released solo album and will also be part
of a live recording being put together for radio and TV.
“I’m excited about this gig because it’s a first time
for a lot of things,” says Wells. “We’ve got a set of
brand new songs being played by this brand new band, and we’ll be
rolling tape. There’s a feeling that anything can happen.”
The Mark Wells Trio features drummer guitarist/bassist Dave Carroll and
drummer Martin Paget, two musicians who are best known for their work
in local alterno-rock outfit Cotton Sidewalk.
The Brewery show will kick a short string of dates for Wells over November/December
including a short tour of the East Coast and a solo support for Sarah
McLeod.
“It’s the beginning of a very busy time. The album’s
due out in March, and then there’s a national tour planned to promote
it,” says Wells.
The show on Thursday 30th November will also feature a special guest
appearance by ABC Music Awards Best Female Vocalist, Marissa Saroca.
The show kicks off at 9pm and entry is free.
