music heavyweights in the Hunter
Mark Wells was announced today as
part of the lineup for the CMC Rocks the Hunter, the
largest country music festival that Australia has seen.
The festival will take place at Hope Estate in Pokolbin
over the weekend of the 6th and 7th of March 2011.
Wells is set to perform alongside
international country superstars such as Alan Jackson
and Miranda Lambert as well as Australian country acts
including Troy Cassar-Daley and The McClymonts.
With over 17,000 fans expected
and the event being aired to over 60 million people
across America, Wells is ecstatic that he has been offered
a place on such a legendary line-up.
‘‘I’m really excited
to just be playing one of the biggest ever international
country music line-ups in Australia,’’ Wells
said yesterday.
‘‘It’s a really
huge festival in terms of the number of people that
come to this. To play to 17,000 people or more is going
to be amazing exposure. I’m really excited to
be doing this in the Hunter, it is going to be such
an amazing opportunity for me”.
With a new album set to be released
January 2011, Wells added that CMC Rocks the Hunter
will help to open up his music not only to fans at the
festival, but also to those working in the international
country music scene.
